Today's the day ............................ to lie low

The easterly beast came to visit us in the night and we woke up to several inches of snow.

Readers of this journal will know exactly how I felt about that - but I have tried to remain cheerful throughout the day.  I have kept myself busy inside to keep my mind off the trials and tribulations outside - and at least, I was fortunate in that there wasn't anything I had to do.  The weatherman said we should count ourselves lucky if we had a blue sky - which we did.

This poor blackbird looked a bit bemused about the state things were in - and just hopped about in a distracted way.  That sort of feeling, I could identify with very easily ..........................
