Handsome

Within the space of about 10 minutes this afternoon, just as I was getting ready to leave for a doctor's appointment, all sorts of critters showed up out "on the pond".  First, a group of about eight Bufflehead ducks appeared, along with some Common Mergansers a Mallard or two and eight or ten Canada Geese.   Then, in flew this Heron.  They all congregated in the same area and, letting my imagination run wild, I thought it looked as though the heron was officiating at some sort of meeting. (See Extra) Perhaps it was a post-Alternative Olympics get together to count medals or discuss strategy for the next Olympics.  Who knows with birds/fowl.  They're a mystery.
