The Big Snow arrives

About 2am it started snowing with a fierce north-easterly gale. The backend of Storm Emma, centred over north west Spain, is sucking warm moist air up into the freezing Siberian front over Northern Italy and the Apeninnes.

Just a few inches but enough to close schools and universities. Higher up it must be pretty fierce and frightening.

I took a walk around Fiesole and up on to the top of the hill. It was pretty good fun.

A couple of extras too. The gates of a Medici villa and an olive tree in the Garden of Remembrance ion Fiesole.
