Mixed feelings...

Are what I have about taking this tree down. It had an injury so we decided to have it cut down. I don't feel very good about it but in this case, I think it's better to be safe than sorry. It was about 120 feet tall and this guy had it cut down in less than 30 minutes. His crew of 5 were on the ground carting it all away - some of it went in the chipper to be recycled and the bulk of the tree ended up on our side yard, awaiting the fellow who is going to take it away (extra).

As you can see, the wood looks pretty healthy but the tree did have damage that could have caused it to snap about 30 feet up. One good thing is we will have more sunlight in the house since it was on the southern side.
