EEEEEK!

Advice please. This little blighter suddenly appeared running across the carpet, possible from the toy box. 

Can anyone identify it? Is it a potential floorboard chomping/ carpet munching/people biting nightmare ? Should I report it  to DEFRA or the police? Or is it a benign chappy that I can nurture  as a pet. If the latter I must start thinking of a name.
