Castle Howard

Gloomy but impressive. Our amble in the countryside around this stately home gave tantalisng views of this star of Brideshead. One could almost hear Ennio Morricone's score in the background.
On then to Gatwick and our first of two flights, depositing us at Porto airport at 11pm with a connecting flight in tomorrow morning to Madeira. No business lounge for us seasoned travellers.
