Snow on the mountains

After attending an interesting lecture last night on weather and, in particular, the local variations of it, today we got an example of it with the Cuillins covered in snow and not a flake of it here. No so good was the prediction that sea-level will rise between 50 and a 100 centimetres over the next hundred years, slightly counterblanced by the fact Scotland is rising by about 5cm every 1000 years. It won't be us bailing out our front room anyway.
Apparently, the Uists are dryer and warmer than the rest of the Outer Hebrides and indeed in May are the warmest, sunniest places in Scotland. Doesn't always fell like it although after yesterday's biting wind, today has been mild and calm.
Tricia even managed a couple of miles on the beach, dragging herself away from her brand new computer.
