The other Angel...
...of the North!
Yesterday's barometer was right, and today dawned bright and cheerful. Hooray!
MrM needed some wood for the 'music room', and we also wanted find out whether a particular wood supplier sells hardwood suitable for making musical instruments. So, this morning, we set out towards Hexham. It must have snowed hard overnight on the high ground, and there were some fabulous views of the snow-covered hills. As we approached the woodyard, near Whitley Chapel, we were surprised to see another 'Angel of the North' in the middle of a field - not quite the same and rather smaller than the Antony Gormley sculpture near the A1, but worthy of a Blip!
A successful trip! The woodyard turned out to be a 'treasure trove' (according to MrM, anyway), and wood for the 'music room' was purchased. We shall, no doubt, go back sometime soon with a view to buying wood for instruments. Before heading for home we went to the ginormous DIY store in Newcastle, where MrM bought more wood for the 'music room', and a new outdoor light was acquired too. No room on the roof-rack or in the car for anything else...
