The end....

Of an absolutely amazing day. Today was “the Musical Takeover” of our town. We’ve been to concerts:
At the church
At the market (a beautiful playing of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik)
In the luthiers and then the wine merchants
In the Guildhall (the only recorder music I’ve ever enjoyed)
The theatre
The Minster (where we found granny & grandad as a surprise!)

*interlude for sausage & chips, a ride over the pastures on the vintage bus then a coffee stop*

The shopping centre for Brass by local children
A barge (and a ride on a boat which katie steered)
The Masonic lodge (amazing Mozart piece for horn and string quartet)
A different church (incredible collaboration piece with the festival musicians, the special school and a Hollywood composer... it really was incredible).

We have had such a fun day!! We’ve walked miles, heard hours and hours of glorious music, chatted to lots of friends. Brilliant day.

Granny and Grandad came to ours for tea before Katie and I got ready for a treat night out! We went back to the festival for the Ceilidh night. The evening started with a concert folk and dance-based music before the tables were pushed back & the dancing began. It was wonderful to see katie confidently off with a huge beam dancing with new friends we’ve made. I had some dances too, such a fun evening. She decided when her friend had left that she was ready to go too and fell asleep in my bed not long after we got home at 10.15!
