Cairn O’Mount

Heading to Aberdeenshire today for evening meeting with one of our volunteer leaders before giving a talk tomorrow on the children’s hearings system in the morning. Then meeting another volunteer leader on the way back.

As the snows of recent weeks are disappearing rapidly I decided to take the Fettercairn to Banchory road: one of the first to close in bad weather. Today the snow gates were open.

I recall many, many years ago visiting the Hill Farm Reaseach Unit at Glensaugh just off the road.

Today the sight to see were hangliders catching the currents at the Cairn O’Mount and soaring then bringing themselves back to land at the same spot.
