My Christian name is meant to be derived from the Isle of Bute. But it is also very similar to the Gaelic for yellow.

Whatever the reason yellow is my favourite colour and to see these daffodils in full bloom is a pleasure.

It has become a tradition to photograph this field each spring near Drem on the way to North Berwick.

Our son and I, plus dog, went to visit my mother ahead of her birthday next weekend to help make sure she as ready for the wider family desvpcending on Friday.

We then headed back to Edinburgh to mark my mother in law’s 91st birthday in her nursing home. She was having a good day and seemed to recognise us all.
