Dipper in Albania

Today Marylee and I stayed at the restaurant in the valley, while the others did another mountain walk. There were excellent birds in the immediate area, especially along the rushing stream nearby, where I captured these two images. We were especially hoping for a dipper, but it took well over two hours of patient waiting.  This is a White-throated dipper, distinguished from the  American dipper on our home continent; both are prized birds to see; they swim in cold rushing water, where they catch their food. We saw wagtails constantly, often taking off (as in the extra of a Grey wagtail), and landing again nearby—presumably hunting insects.
