Never more than fifteen feet from a rat!

What a beautiful day! As someone used to say. Sunny - and quite warm out of the wind.

This afternoon we walked down to the town and thought we would sit on a seat and enjoy ice creams, but couldn't find any seats unoccupied! We leaned against the railings and looked down at the beach and suddenly, too suddenly to catch with the camera, a large brown rat popped out of a hole in the seawall and popped into another! I'd not seen one here before, but I'm sure there are many more!

Behind me the old Oban Times building, built in 1883, stands out against the deep blue sky - the newspaper is now housed in a characterless modern building on the other side of town. The War & Peace Museum is now on the ground floor of this beautiful building
