Rain and more rain

Drove north this afternoon to prepare the way for C and her sons to join us tomorrow. A bit of rain on the way clearing as we reached Warkworth. Stopped there for a few supplies, and then on the way to Snells Beach, the rain resumed. All okay here otherwise.

The rain got heavier, and lightning and thunder joined in. About 10 minutes after I took this photo of the rain bouncing off the table on the deck, the electricity failed. Followed by somewhat distant thunder. I presume a transformer was hit by lightning. The poor workers for the lines company haven't yet finished restoring power to all of those cut off in Tuesday's big storm.

We might just cancel the boys' holiday here until later in the school holidays. They only just got power on again last night at their home.
