Friends anemones
This afternoon I managed to spend another hour in the garden, trimming back plants that were no longer, and had shed their seed either on the breeze or around about the borders. I've left a certain amount of cover for those creatures that will still require protection from the elements, but basically anything that once grew tall has gone... all except these Japanese Anemones.
They are on their last legs though, and will soon need to be trimmed back too. Their name has always fascinated me, from childhood, trying to pronounce correctly. They spread pretty readily and you really have to keep an eye on where they're creeping off to.
In the foreground here, the blurry pink area is a Corncockle flower between the anemones and the lens; proof that these fading flowers are still in some colourful company.
