Hopeful

This is one of our next door neighbours' two cats. They are mother and son.

We are supposedly "looking after" these animals while their real humans are on jollies with their two children (in Cyprus, I think). We are less assiduous, perhaps, in keeping to proper mealtimes than the cats would like...

Finally, the food comes, and seems to be satisfactory. It's evidently a welcome lunch.

But we find a problem. Where is the black-and-white son? Mother seems not to have been taught to eat from only one bowl, and now consumes her son's rations.

However, in the evening, the rather nervous youngster shows up, and we put his food out first, and he scoffs the lot very quickly. Mother loses interest in hers quite rapidly, probably because of being so gluttonous earlier on.

I wonder if there will be anything left in the bowls tomorrow lunchtime.
