Time for Teletubbies
Had a fantastic day at The Museum of Childhood with Betsy and Al.?
Have never been there before, and it was great. On the way home we all said which were our top 3 best toys we'd seen, and we all agreed; the amazing antique doll houses, the rocking horses and the Chopper bike!
I really enjoyed seeing so many toys that I had that you don't see very often now. Blazing Flowers, Pippa and Daisy dolls. ?I realised too that I had a huge amount of housework toys! At least two ironing boards and irons, several hoovers, washing machines and cookers - no wonder I hate housework so much now! I had done more than my fair share by the time I was nine! ?I remember being utterly furious when my mother in law bought Betsy a toy Hoover when she was three and now I think it must have been because I was recalling my own make-believe domestic drudgery! ?I have to be honest ?and say she did like it though, much to my secret annoyance! ?I responded by buying her a firefighters costume - but I've been a parent long enough now to realise that you're on a hiding to nothing if you try to outmanoeuvre a grandmother.?
They had a Blythe Doll at the museum. I've never seen one in person before but I much admire them. I would love one of my own. ?
