The Old Forge (Tuesday 1st May 2018)
There was some excitement for Smokey this morning while he was sitting on the porch table taking advantage of the warming sun. This blue tit flew in through the door and went back and forth singing its shrill song, but remaining well out of cat reach, above door height. I got several shots before it eventually landed on top of the open door and found its way out, still chirping.
I took a few shots in the garden, including phase two of the tulips in the pot, shown in Extras.

Lowell Fulsom - Lady in the Rain (1969)
Lowell Fulsom, the most important figure in West Coast blues in the 1940s and 1950s, visited Rick Hall's FAME studio in Muscle Shoals in January 1969 to cut an album with their fantastic house band (Barry Beckett, Eddie Hinton, David Hood and Roger Hawkins) and plugged in his own electric guitar to great effect to create the album In A Heavy Bag. Unlike recent efforts by the likes of Muddy Waters (Electric Mud) and the Howlin' Wolf this seems to have been his own idea and choices of material. I came across the album when Paul Jones played from it in his tribute to Rick Hall when he died in January, and was playing it today. On this track he revisits and updates a single he had out in 1964.
