a lifetime burning

May Day

Seville Day 2

Its been Labour Day here in Seville, so there was a march of local union members through the centre of Seville which ended up outside the Bank of Spain where speakers addressed the assembled marchers.

The weather has been mixed again - for much of the day its been pleasant, occasionally warm and sunny but there have ben some thundery downpours.  Fortunately, we were having a nice tapas lunch inside during the first downpour, and we were inside the Cathedral for the second.  We've still not bought that umbrella - so that is probably what is causing the showers.  As soon as we invest in an umbrella the weather is bound to improve.

This evening we found a really nice, friendly restaurant near the Cathedral in the historic centre for a great paella.  Amazingly at gone 10pm the swallows were still flying around the Cathedral's bell tower.  We thought that they must be bats at first, but on closer examination, the were clearly swallows.
