sleeping city

like i said before, this city is always awake.

but i think it slept last night. i woke up to berlin blanketed in snow. some have expressed discontent with the phase "blanket of snow." this morning it made sense. the city was muffled and silent. like the earth was wrapped up in a blanket. it snowed overnight. when i walked outside, there was a layer of snow and it continued to fall.

the snow coupled with sunday morning made for a sleeping city... blanketed in snow. the walk was beautiful. cold and beautiful. i felt like the only person awake in this city.

i love sundays in berlin. everything is closed, which in some ways is inconvenient, but in a lot of ways lovely. it slows everyone and everything down.

my flatmate is sick with fever/flu. while this is unfortunate for her, it means we get to lounge around the flat all day, without feeling guilty. i am concerned i might be getting sick. ah well. i suppose ill take it easy today. ha.

this is the park outside my flat. children sled down the hill, when there is sufficient snow to do so.
