Can't Hold Us

Quite an interesting day.

This morning I went for a run. I decided to pass by Jamie's house because I knew that she had invited the team over for a team run. Sure enough, Jamie, Gabby, Avery, and Shannon were all about to head off. I joined them and we went to the Tackapusha Preserve in Seaford. We adventured through there for a while before heading back to Wantagh. We picked up Kenny and them I broke off to run home because I was already almost at 6 miles. Kenny came over and showered after his run, and Nick, Casey, Kenny, and I went to the mall for a bit. We shopped around and ate and just enjoyed seeing other people in large amounts for the first time in a few days. When we left we dropped Nick off at home and Casey, Kenny, and I met Alyssa at Cedar Creek Park to help the Red Cross serve meals to people that lost their homes, food, and power in the hurricane. We served some coffee and sorted donated clothing with the Wantagh High School Drama Department. It was quite an eye opening experience. You never think that you'll be in that kind of a situation but soon enough it just happens. I'm glad I could help, and it was nice to just be kept busy for a few hours. I'm planning on going back tomorrow morning to help again. We left around 7:00 and passed by the East Bay Diner, which apparently had some sort of fire inside. Nick and Doug walked to my house and I convince my parents to let me walk around with them by taking the dog with me. We stopped by Adam's house to say hello and then we got ice cream at Hershey's.

I'm tired and my arms hurt from handing out cases of water, but it feels good.
