It is an intravenous steroid and it works fast. My neuropathy had become, absolutely unbearable on my face this week. I couldn't believe it when my neurologist arranged for a nurse to come to my house the next day to give men the first IV steroid dose. It, was even more amazing how well it worked so quickly. I could bend most of my fingers by evening. The sharp pain on face was reduced to a constant burn. I have two more doses and I hope they can knock out the rest of the joint and neuropathy pain. But even this pain relief is significantly appreciated. Woohoo.
