The Cloche

Today's the day ……………………… to be uplifted

This is the bit of the garden where we grow our veg - and it's in the green cloche tunnel where you will find all the salad stuff.

It is all looking very innocent now - but if I tell you that when we woke up this morning, it was wrapped round the top of a holly tree, 15 feet up in the air - you might look at it in a different light.  The incredible thing is that this holly tree is in the gap between our house and the one next door and we are at a loss to work out how on earth it could have got there.

There was a bad storm (Hector) last night, of course, with gale force winds from the southwest.  We reckon that the entire cloche, poles and all, got lifted up in the air - a bit like a box-kite.  It then flew across the garden, high enough not to cause any damage and enough to get it over a single-storey extension to the side of our house.  If it hadn't been for the holly tree barring the way, goodness knows where it would have ended up.

Will retrieved it from the holly tree, straightened out the poles as best he could and has clamped it firmly back in place.  Let's hope it stays put tonight ……………
