Cat Nap
This morning we went for a walk along Eucalyptus Street, which is the main road into Kolymbia and where most of the tavernas and shops are. It’s given its name as it’s lined with Eucalyptus trees, and I intended to blip it as it’s 2kms long and the trees are very old. However, we spotted this cat having a nap in the window opening of a disused building that’s for sale, and it just had to be my Blip. Rhodes is known for its feral cats although we haven’t seen too many in Kolymbia where we’re staying. There’s a Greek Cat Welfare Society who are catching the cats, neutering them and then releasing them, so the population is reducing.
On our way back we went to the taverna by the little port and sat and had a drink. They have two lovely little dogs Boubou and Lucy, and I took some nice photos of them, emailed them to the guy, and added a few to my extras.
We’re now relaxing on our terrace and it’s currently raining very heavily, it’s still 26 degrees though, so it’s actually very pleasant. Yet another advantage of having our own pool, as on the terrace we’re sheltered by the room above so can sit here watching the rain while having a glass of wine and more hummus - the main pool and sun-loungers have been abandoned and we’re watching everyone evacuate the beach. The rain won’t stop me though, I’ll still go for a swim, there’s something nice about swimming in the rain.
Anyway, I’ll wish you all a happy weekend!
