Luing is very green and very blue

A beautiful midsummer day on the slate island of Luing.

Up with the lark (of which we've seen and heard a few) and off for a walk on the west side of the island. This is the view looking west and a bit south. The islands of Mull,  Lunga, Scarba, Belnahua and the Garvellachs were all easily spotted and we also saw Colonsay further away. Passed lots of lovely Luing cattle, including a few bulls who were perfectly placid. Popped back to Cullipool for coffee then down to the other village of Toberonochy.  What a really glorious wee place. On to Blackmill Bay before heading back for a late lunch at the Atlantic Islands Centre in Cullipool. Squat lobsters (#eatingwithmyhands and #makingamess). Delicious.  Back at the (highly recommendable) caravan before heading out for another walk.

Thank you for popping in and for the stars and comments while I'm not WiFi enabled. I'm going to try to add a couple of extras of this lovely island but I'm not sure if the mobile signal will cope. My blip is of the walk this morning looking over to the Fladda Lighthouse.
Extra 1 Toberonochy cottages
Extra 2 derelict water mill
Extra 3 slate!

The longest day is Tom's birthday. We won't be seeing him but we will certainly raise a glass this evening to many happy returns.
