Friday: Command Fleet Handover

I flew over to Victoria this morning to attend the Change of Command ceremony for the Canadian Pacific Fleet. Rear Admiral Art MacDonald (left), a really great guy, is moving back to Ottawa amd Rear Admiral Bob Auchterlonie (right) is taking over. Their speeches were both so entertaining - clearly the Royal Canadian Navy has a keen sense of humour. A bit like the British Civil Service.

We had a lovely evening tonight - a barbecue for our nearest and dearest so they could meet Bev and Miss Rae.
