Flying high

A very hot day, reading 26 degrees, but luckily we have quite abit of shade in the garden so could keep cool.
I made some cakes and scones and decided to have dinner at lunchtime so that we could have a picnic in the evening.
The afternoon was spent planting the hanging baskets as the violas are not looking their best and I needed to get the Summer plants in before Autumn ;)
Busy with wildlife in the garden including two snails under the Hosta , arrrr, their favourite food ! A few butterflies and the two families of bluetits who are growing and becoming more independent daily.
Just after seven we gathered together our drinks and rolls etc and headed for the Point. We managed to park and walked down the path to the sand.So glad I had taken a sweatshirt as the wind was very strong and it was chilly with an incoming tide. We did manage to eat our rolls without getting a mouthful of sand and had the company of a gull keeping a watchful eye.
No dolphins sighted and it felt too cold to wait so went for a drive instead. A few lapwing defending their nest from the crows. No Osprey until we were further along the coast , high up so not easy to capture but really took this one just to id as it did look abit like a gull too.The sky was still that amazing blue and sounds like we have more to come tomorrow :)
