All the fun of the fair

Today we went with #3 daughter, Ella and Nathaniel to The Hoppings. This is the biggest travelling fair in Europe, and came to the town moor Newcastle for the first time in 1882.

When our children were young mortgage interest rates were 15% so we were never able to afford to take them.

But Nathaniel goes past Town Moor on his way to nursery and many people in Ella’s class had been to the fair, so it was their choice for the treat when their reward charts were full.

Their mum said they could have 3 rides each and we offered 2 so they were very excited. We walk ped through to see what was there first. Rides were from £2.50 to £3.30 each on the children’s rides. Ella knew she wanted to go on the Helter Skelter and the Big Bubble. both wanted to Hook a Duck.

It wasn’t as busy as I expected, the sun shone and we all had a lovely time.
