Village Life

Down at Hythe Marina Village, just off Southampton Water, today and delighted to find its personality still holds a rather special charisma.

Remember it has the claim to fame of being the first marina village to be built in this country, inspired by the character of Port Grimaud, near St Tropez in the south of France.

That was all a long time ago, although I can remember I was privileged to be present at the formal opening of the lock gates giving entrance to the marina waters and which marked the completion of the village development.

But when you can enjoy views like this today who could forget such an occasion 30 years ago.
