2018 Wednesday — Hometown USA
This little community of Cayucos (Pop. 3,102) swells to 30,000 this one day of the year for the annual parade that is so homespun, so podunk, that you would think you were in middle-America. But we are on the edge of the continent . . . facing the Pacific Ocean on California’s Central Coast. The morning parade was grand, the afternoon Bingo at the Vet’s Hall was loud and rowdy, and the evening fireworks were spectacular.
I’m thankful to be an American.
Happy July 4th,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
