Paris - Day 4

We didn't leave the hotel till 10.10.  The driver needed to rest enough for the trip back home this evening.  Before heading for The Netherlands, though, we were allowed a couple of hours at Montmartre, where this shot of the Sacre Coeur was taken.  On our way up the hill, Nan spotted a sign -- 'Exhibit of Salvador Dali'.  After touring inside the basilica, that's where we went.  It focused on his scuptures (see extra).  Then lunch, then the walk down the hill to the meeting point.  We crossed the border at about 21.30, then the exact reverse of the pick-up points -- first Urmond, then Roermond, then finally, at about 22.45, Eindhoven.  Of course, my car was still there and we were back home by 23.30.

Naturally, we were very tired.  But we were also very, very satisfied.  There might be a second trip to Paris for the express purpose of visiting the Louvre and perhaps the Musee d'Orsay, but we shall have to figure that out towards the second half of August, as we wind down.  Anyway, this is the kind of 'tired' that we don't mind, as it has nothing to do with work.  I've always believed in walking my legs off and then plummeting to sleep afterwards, knowing the goal has been achieved.  Many more goals this coming month, but this was a good start.  Nan, in any case, is speechless ... 'It's all so beautiful that I can't describe the feeling.'  I think it was a good decision to invite her.

For my FB friends, the first album is out!
