Woodwind solo

Day two of festival! I picked her up from school at lunchtime and got her fed at home, which in itself was lovely. We headed to the festival. She did an absolutely stunning job of rehearsing her woodwind solo. It was beautiful. She spent ages thoroughly enjoying the acoustics of the room and just playing different pieces. Unfortunately, it went a little less amazingly in the real thing. She had absolutely no connection with the pianist, it didn’t click together. But she won her class and got the trophy with some fantastic feedback.

We then made a mad dash over to ballet rehearsals. I picked her up after an hour and we rushed back the hours drive to music festival for the 2skills class. She was beautiful for this. The general feeling was she “was robbed” somewhat.... she came second but it was a decision that was questioned by a few. Adjudicators are funny beings sometimes! I wasn’t concerned that she came second, I was sad for her because she’d done an amazing job of both her clarinet and piano pieces.

The time in the paddling pool was brief tonight after a hygiene issue was spotted. However she still found time and energy to play on the sand!
