Playing

We had a day at home today, which called for lots of entertainment and imagination.  We've cleaned out the fire, made (lots of) cards and used an entire can of furniture polish cleaning the toy kitchen.  The boys played beautifully this afternoon outside (I kept them inside this morning to keep out of the sun)  

The eldest, did have a few moments of being very trying and everything a three year old should be   The lunch time conversation went along the lines of: 

Him:
I don't like lunch.
I don't like lunch 
I don't LIKE lunch. 
I want a snack. 

Me:
It's pizza, you like pizza

Him:
I don't like pizza. (he then goes off for a sulk). 

Eventually, he comes back in and sits down, takes a tiny bite

Him:
It's nice 
Want to paint

Me:  
We can paint this afternoon

Him:
No! Want to paint now

Me:
Ok, finish your lunch and we'll paint

Him:
Don't like lunch

Me:
Finish your pizza

Him. 
Ok (finishes - and has seconds). 

Goodness... it's exhausting being 3!
