Sithean

Quite day today, mainly spent at my desk researching ancestors from Perth. This included a possible 1st cousin 6th times removed who emigrated to Ohio in 1827 in her 60s with her husband, married children and their families. Wonder what prompted this migration.

Exercise today was reserved for some yoga and a trip to the co-op where I perused the bi-lingual signs (as is my wont). I have been studying gaelic places names as an understanding gives  an indication of the geography.  I was struck by the use of "sith"meaning fairy or hill and fairy hills when used as a place name. A bit of research suggests that sithean  (the plural) can mean fairies or flowers.
