And another lovely day

Quite a few Blippers will immediately recognise this.

This morning we took our precious, but getting rather old, coffee machine to the Jura Centre in Colne, Lancashire and left it there to get a full service. We went into Skipton (Blip) for lunch and then wandered around the Forest Of Bowland, until it was time to return to Colne.

We had a great chat with the guys at Jura. What they did for the service was explained and they reckon it will carry on for a few more years yet, not bad for ten years old, used every day. Interesting that they had a complete printout from the machine, telling us how many cups of coffee we have made etc. He was also able to report that I obey every instruction; for example, when it says ‘clean’ I clean it. Not everyone does this apparently – and they know!! Lots of things have been replaced, so it should work brilliantly now.

Extra: we had the car hand-washed and I was amused by the mangle they had for wringing out the cloths – my grandma had one of those. I suppose my mum did too, but I only remember her with a twin tub, although that had a mangle fitted on it.

I have no interest in football, but I love all the red flags and enthusiasm about and how it seems to have brought people together speaking the same language – the guys immediately knew why we had to be back for 7!
