Evening primrose (in the morning)
I have visions for the bottom end of our garden of a pretty wild, self seeding area, with foxgloves, teasel, honesty etc. To that end, last year we bought foxgloves and teasel - now spreading nicely in the grass bed. And earlier this year, we bought some little seedlings of honesty, which hopefully will flower and seed next year.
I also want to add some evening primrose into the area, and mentioned that we should plant some seeds this autumn. A couple of days ago, I noticed a plant growing by the pond - it had some little buds with a vague yellow tinge. Much to my delight, over the last couple of days, this has revealed itself to be a self-seeded evening primrose.
