A hanging basket by the back door has been a real treat this fine summer and I hope it will last a while yet. I spent a long time watering thus evening as I didn't do it yesterday evening, apart from a few needy pots.
I've had a quieter day today after my happy family day yesterday.
We have a lot of cabbage white butterflies at the moment, flying round the garden, usually in pairs. I watched one that was fluttering intently close to a white patch on a hebe flower. I thought it was a dead butterfly but the attention went on for a while until the white patch came to life and they flew off together! Had it been sleeping I wonder. A remarkable sight.
