A busy day (for some)
We had nothing in our diary today, but Archie had a busy day, with two appointments with his pals. First, Annemique came to collect him, and they were going up Arthur's Seat! Actually, it was a good day to go there, as it was cloudy and so not as hot as it has been - there's no shade up there! But they made it.
JR and I had a wee stroll into town. Well, bus into town. I wanted to show JR my favourite ice cream shop, which has been there for years and is quite famous but has just come to my attention - Mary's Milk Bar.
I had my usual vanilla ('milk' actually) and JR had peanut, coconut and chillie and declared it delicious. We passed the Moggy Tea Room, but called in to another cafe for very decent coffees.
By this time I was getting a bit edgy, as I knew the tennis would have started, but I was home in plenty of time to see Djokovic (predictably) beating the exhausted Anderson. And then to watch the football. Well done France. And Croatia.
Archie's second outing was with Elizabeth in the evening. She was taking her visitors to see her new flat, and his opinion was needed. His tiredness of an hour ago disappeared magically when Elizabeth appeared at the door.
What a lucky boy he is!
