A Winter's Tale

Today's the day …………………………. to perform outside

Isn't it just typical? 

We've had months of good weather when it has been very pleasant to sit outside of an evening.  But tonight, when we were going to an outdoor performance of Shakespeare's A Winter's Tale  at Leighton Hall, it's been a pretty miserable day with a fair amount of rain.

It didn't deter us though.  We took our gourmet picnic and folding chairs and set up camp when the gates opened at six o'clock.  The performance started at 7.30pm, by which time it was sort of dry.  At any rate, it didn't deter the actors who put on a brilliant performance and the time passed in a flash.

Maybe it was tempting fate to be watching a play called 'A Winter's Tale' in the middle of summer ………………………...
