Feverfew - Tanacetum parthenium
The nearby forest fire I blipped yesterday is still burning and still not fully under control but the weather today was very helpful for the firefighters. We woke to 100% cloud cover and the morning was much cooler. The wind was very light and had reversed from yesterday so the fire was burning back on itself. However, it is still burning and the fire services are trying to hold a perimeter and let it burn out or be extinguished by the promised rain that will hopefully soon start falling. We hear helicopters continually. They are dropping bags of water onto the fire but when we see them they are coming to or from their base 50 km south of us.
It being a little cooler we took a walk down to the lake and at the lake edge there were a lot of flowers. The ones that seem to like this hot dry weather are Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) and Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium).
This cool weather feels really good and we would be so happy to see rain, but the sun will return tomorrow afternoon and blaze on through next week.
I noticed that I'd missed blipping on the 14th July (our Wedding Anniversary and Bastille Day!) so there's a backblip here.
