Bumble Bees
We obviously have a Tree Bumble Bee nest in the eves of the garage.
I did a bit of research which explained that Tree Bumblers nests get the group of stingless males 'hanging about' waiting for a female to mate with.
My activity with the pressure washer was obviously upsetting them, so I put the washer away and left them to it.
I had been using the washer to clear up after removing the remains of the dead pigeon on the patio. I also blasted the disgusting, maggot ridden 'nest' out of the wisteria - much to the annoyance of the remaining occupant (who I thought had left). I can't see it surviving because sitting on the rotting corpse of its sibling has resulted in its tail also rotting away. The really are disgusting, disease carrying beasts.
I have chucked raspberries and vanilla pod seeds into a couple of jars of gin (extra photo) and will wait to see how it turns out in a few months.
We have had a couple of phone calls from No1 son today ….. keeping us up to date with how or ray of sunshine is doing after an operation to try and improve her hearing - and to let Butterfly say 'Thank You' for the bracelet we sent her (made from various minerals and lava types from Mount Etna).
Bags also phoned this morning - from Majorca. She required me to get a file from her computer and send it to her. Her boss obviously has a serious problem that he needs her to sort out - he is very much a believer in 'family' and wouldn't bother her when she was on holiday otherwise.
