Its Arrived!!!

This is just below our building and has been the main Christmas decoration shop for kilometres around. Everyone would flock to this shop to purchase their trees, trimmings, wreaths, baubles and lights in time for their big celebration. There was no competition!

However....this year a second shop has opened up right next door to this one...so I've really been quite kind in not blipping a double dose!! ....but imagine this, times two and you'll get a measure of what our street looks like!! Blackpool illuminations beware!!

Here in the Middle East, Christmas runs from the beginning of December to almost the end of January so the retailers can be forgiven for wanting to get in there early. The Eastern Orthodox Church celebrates on January 6th and the Armenians towards the months' end.

Promise I'll not blip Christmas again until nearer to the day itself.

Actually the city is ablaze with lights in some areas because it is the Hindu festival of Diwali.....and firecrackers have been going off all night in the garden below! Hope they all soon run out as its already 10:30pm!
