Edinburgh Fringe Festival

We got up quite late but I felt I had had the first restful sleep since ages!
Since we knew we were staying over night with Kev and Fiona in Edinburgh we were not in a rush. We could still do the earlier shows on Sunday morning before we drive home.
We packed our duvets and pillows and some over night stuff and went for breakfast at William.
Neil also got his weekly shave.
We finally hit the road at half past 3 going first to the garage.
Donald had prepared my car - actually my mum’s car that I took over from Germany after she had died in 2012.
Since April 2013 is was in Donald’s garage. I was not very fast getting the paperwork done to get it registered in UK.
It got 5 MOTs in the time and dane abou 5 miles - moving from one parking to another. It was definitely a nuisance for them!
But Donald was great - he had put it for a mini valet and it looked fabulous.
I need to come back though, as there is something wrong with the electronics, that need fixed soon.
I could not believe that I was finally driving away with that car! Donald couldn’t either!!

We parked at Fiona and Kev’s and had a coffee together before we walked into town to see whats on at the Fringe and maybe to catch some shows.
We decided to walk to the Circus Hub on the meadows as I fancied some circus.
It was already after 7 pm when we arrived and we took a fast decision and got tickets for a show at 8 pm and another at 10pm.
We just had time for a drink before we had to join the fist queue.
The first show was "The Little Death Club” … punk Cabaret from Berlin. We saw here a few years before and liked her.

It was a fabulous show with loads of variety. We all enjoyed it a lot.

After the show we had about an hour to grab some food and then join the next queue for the 10 pm performance called “Circus Cision”

We walked quickly up to George Square and grabbed Fish and Chips from a van. Oh my, this was a fantastic Fish Supper!
I would normally not opt for this from a van at a Festival, but it already looked good and the quality was amazing! The fish was so juicy and the batter so crispy! The chips (I usually do not eat chips!) were fantastic too. Not soggy at all. And the portion was BIG - HUGE!
We indulged in our dinner while walking back ti the Circus Hub and joined the queue. I could not stop raving on about how good the fish was.

The show was great - again a lot of variety - quite different to what we expected.

We were happy that we had managed to chose 2 good shows we enjoyed on short notice. The Fringe is so big and there is so much on, that you can easily hit something not that great, when you do not do much research.

Neil bought also tickets for 2 shows tomorrow at 12 and at 3pm before we go back to Glasgow.

We seemed all to be tired after the second show and walked home.
Sat another hour with Kevin and Fiona before we climbed into the roof space for the guest bed is.

Main blip is one of the performers handing out flyers for their show! There are Millions and Trillions of flyers handed out during the fringe. If you walk just down the high street you will gain at least a kilogram of paper.

Posting and extra of an arial performer. He was wonderful!
