This blackbird took up station on our paving this afternoon, standing quite still and not fazed by the rabbit hopping about.

The black feathers, orange beak and yellow eye-ring show he is a bird in breeding plumage, but he looks much smaller than the blackbirds I've seen in our garden before. He may be one of the migrants from Scandinavia come to spend the winter here?
Perhaps he is a blackbird version of Sandi Toksvig? ;)
