Colours at Sunrise
Despite snowy showers during the night, this morning broke bright with the clouds well broken. I hesitated about venturing out for the sunrise as the horizon didn't look that promising. Despite this, I went out with the camera on the basis that I didn't want to miss the colours if the sky changed quickly, as it often does as the sun breaks through. However, it wasn't to be and there was nothing to justify even a single blip.
I returned to the house and put out some food for the birds, that were gathering in nearby trees and catching the first rays of the sun. Normally, at this time on a Sunday, I would be heading off for a run to the beach to work off some of the excesses of a social Saturday. However, a hip injury has curtailed my running and left a gap in my Sunday routine. So, while Mrs B was off for her run, I got the camera out and blipped a few of the birds that were enjoying the sun. I was interrupted every few minutes as Tommy would land on my hand or the camera looking for some seeds. To keep him occupied I eventually had to put a small pile of seeds on the wall next to me that I was using to steady my arm as I blipped.
I later settled on this shot because of the warm colours of the chaffinch and tree branches against the cold blue sky. It was good to get some sunrise colours, even if they weren't the ones I was after!
