Genoa
We got up at dawn’s crack (3.30 am) to travel to Gatwick and then on to Genoa, it did mean though that we had a really full first day.
Genoa is Bev’s favourite city and we’re she popped the question so it’s lovely to be back. It’s a lively working port town, full of colour, smells and noise. We had a wander and bit of lunch before heading up to Piazza Manin where the oldest electric train in Europe takes you out of town and into the hill villages. Unfortunately, I (my head) was still on London time so we missed the train! There’s always tomorrow.....
It was a trek up a huge hill to the station so we took in the views before heading back down in a lift to the piazza and back into Genoa to check into the hotel and eat streppe and pesto, Which Genoa is famous for, at my favourite restaurant.
Book stall and fried fish in extras.
