Pentland Hills

A cold Sunday for my bike ride, 5degC at the start. A slight NW breeze. Plenty of cyclists out enjoying the autumn weather. West Linton, Lyne and Eddleston. Slightly shorter route as I started later than usual, so I must have needed the extra 15 minutes of sleep.

The blip shows the Pentland Hills from the moor road from Penicuik to West Linton near Ravensneuk. The whole ride was completed in sunshine. Lovely autumn colours on the ride through the Meldons (but trying to limit my extras). The heather flowers have faded, leaving the deep golden brown of bracken on the hillsides. Riding back home, the breeze had increased, so a bit of a headwind, but still ok. Despite this, it was a fast ride to home along the Seafield Moor Rd.

The whole ride can be seen at Relive here.

The afternoon was spent walking from Morningside down to Lothian Rd. Still chilly, but nice in the sunshine.
