Drive

Sivota was an accidental visit as we were meant to head for "a nice beach" but totally missed the turn (navigating around Lefkada island by not admiring the views is almost impossible). Apparently my driving was bloody scary for the passengers. Baring in mind that most of the roads we travelled on were very windy and on mountain sides with more shrines than barriers for protection! Despite this the Greeks drive in such a carefree way (no seat belts, no helmets, whole families riding a single moped) that it seemed safe to drive amongst them as one gets the feeling that they "look out for each other". Like pipping the horn simply means "I am here" to the Greeks as opposed to "what the f*ck are you doing?" in England*. No road rages, yet.

Anyway, we had good stroll around the harbour of Sivota and enjoyed the lattes, beers and ice cream on offer. Met a really happy, smiley, skinny, stray cat at one of the cafes. That "Smelly Cat" song stuck in my mid for long afterwards. Cheers Phoebe! Later on we booked ourselves in for a boat hire trip in a few days time.

We headed back to the Villa mid afternoon and read some more.
