Scilly Isles
This is a backblip as I am only just getting around to processing the photos taken whilst on the Scillly Isles.
On this day we did a lot of walking on St Mary’s– over 9 miles. Yesterday’s blip is of a water rail and I said that it was the first time I had managed to photograph a water rail. Well, water rails must be a bit like buses, turning up all at once, because this is a picture of a juvenile water rail picking its way through the mud.
I got to see a merlin today, but it wasn’t close enough to photograph. Good view through the binoculars though. A merlin is the UK's smallest bird of prey
