The Princess and the Dog

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

The Mini Princesses were indeed ‘done in’. We had to wake them just before lunchtime!

We pottered around, stopping to see a photography exhibition before I clocked that The Prince wasn’t having a lovely time (‘it’s pretentious sh1te’ was the giveaway) so we moved on to find somewhere for lunch. Admittedly the photo of the giant snail lying next to a woman was slightly odd!

It was lovely sitting outside in October, wearing shorts and t-shirts, chatting and eating tapas. Even though it has been warm at home, it’s still not sitting outside weather unless you don’t mind having your lunch blown to the other side of Edinburgh.

We took the funicular from one of the metro stations, Paral·lel to half way up Montjuïc and then the cable car (Teleferico de Montjuïc) to the castle (an old military fortress) at the top. The views across Barcelona are amazing and well worth the visit. I also love using public transport when I am abroad. It makes me feel very clever and less like a useless tourist.

The Prince and I gave The Mini Princesses a bit of recovery time after our afternoon out and went for a beer before dinner. It’s probably just as well we live in a cold country. Every day is beer garden weather in Spain. We’d end up with (more) pickled livers.

PS We didn’t go to this museum. Pretty sure that would have been a parenting fail!
